So last night I had a dream....
And it was one of those dreams where I would actually wake up but when I fell back asleep I fell back into what was basically the same dream. And oh it was good. Very, VERY livejournal influenced though, people kept showing up and I knew them immediately by their lj handles. And there were hamsters. I had a hamster I had apparently named Chiaroscuro - how's that for odd?

It began at a cafe on what looked like a college campus. I think I was attending college there. I was at a table with four or five other people, all people I know only from LJ but I recognized them. I know [info]nautibitz was there, and [info]missmurchison and [info]rusty_halo among others. And I was talking about my experience as the National Spokesperson for the Hamster Chapter of the Humane society (*boggle*) and mentioning I was going to have to go to Austin, TX in a week for a conference. And was worried that nobody would be taking care of my hamster Chiaroscuro (I don't and never have owned a hamster) while I was out of town. Nautibitz said she would take care of him as long as she got to walk him on his hamster harness. I had this little harness with a leash apparently and would take Chiaroscuro for walks. And MissMurchison made fun of me naming the hamster after her series. Oh and then I started mentioning that I'd just realized that I hadn't gotten an allowance in like 12 years, and was trying to figure out how to get backpayment on allowance.

Oh and then there were all these weird surreal scenes with me in a bedroom with Spike, except we kept getting interrupted because Nautibitz couldn't figure out how to clean the hamster cage properly. And I kept having to explain where the food went and how to get fresh sawdust. It was all very disturbing. And Spike wanted to eat the hamster. And I realized I was running late for meeting [info]rusty_halo, I'd promised her I'd help her meet with her newly archived authors and show them the graphics (which I know she doesn't use!) that she was going to put with each story. And I got into a debate with a new author (who in my dream was somebody I knew in high school, I was all surprised to see her there, but in reality I have no clue who it was) who was upset because, even though there were no golf clubs in her story, the picture that was going to be used with her story did NOT contain any golf clubs. And she apparently really liked golf clubs.

So anyway, that was my odd dream. I could probably trace where most of it came from, but my brain will never be the same again. I'd kinda like to go back to sleep and finish it though, I'm quite upset that I don't get to find out everything that happens.

Hee, hee. I am visualising a hamster with a tiny little palette and brush, and probably a beret too.

*giggle* The worst thing for me is I can actually SEE him wearing his little harness with the leash, walking happily in front of me.

It almost makes me want a hamster!

They bite, you know. Take it from one who has bitter experience.

Hee! Oh my gracious goodness gee, they really DO make everything don't they?

Ohh, I want a hamster I can take for walks *sniff* But no, I won't get one, because somehow it woudn't live up to my dream. Ohh but how cute that would be...

*giggle* thanks for sharing the link :)

Uh, yeah... that's exactly why I kept interrupting. Because of the hamster. Not to like, study your nude, sweaty, intertwined bodies for future fic installments, or anything. 'Cause that would be wrong.

And probably there was some sort of chart or graph involved, with you wanting to take notes. If the pictures ever show up somewhere, I know who to come after...

*hugs* You're just a lovely person to dream about, thank you so much for offering to watch my nonexistant hamster.

LMAO! I got to be in a dream with you, [info]nautibitz and [info]rusty_halo. That's a like a dream come true right there.

I love this! Except for the part about my making fun of you. Not only would I never do that, I am definitely going insert a hamster in one of the epilogues to Chiaroscuro! (But not in a disturbing way.) I don't know exactly how, yet, but I will.

trying to figure out how to get backpayment on allowance

Sounds like you might have been channeling my kids in one of their frequent spurts of creativity when they find themselves overdrawn on allowance. "But, mom, what about all the weeks you didn't pay us back when we were in diapers or nursery school?"

Well I have to say, thank YOU so much for gracing my dream, it was just lovely of you to drop in. If it makes you feel better, your making fun of me consisted of some very gentle teasing :)

And ohh, a hamster in an epilogue, yay!

*laugh* And I have no idea where the allowance issue came from, I'll be happy to just chalk it up to channeling your kids. Particularly since for most of my childhood I got a grand total of 1 dollar a week so somehow I don't think it's worth the litigation....
